Announcing a photo contest.

 

The BHF wants you and your Bouvier to be our educational “poster bouv”.

We are starting a campaign to encourage Bouvier owners to check their dog’s eyes daily for signs of Glaucoma. We know that our breed has a predisposition for Glaucoma.

Glaucoma is characterized by a sudden rise in eye pressure. It is a very painful disease. The dog may start to paw or rub its face. When looking at the eye you may see redness, bulging, or a cloudy appearance. At the onset of warning signs, you must get your dog to a Veterinary and have the eye pressure checked within 24 hours to increase the chances of saving their eye. We are developing a colorful poster and brochure to remind Bouvier owners to check the eyes of their dogs on a daily basis. Your contribution to our campaign will help inform Bouvier owners of a very important yet simple technique for monitoring the health of our breed.

 

The Contest:

We are looking for a playful, happy, interactive picture where you are looking into your dog’s eyes.....or your dog is looking into your eyes. We want you to be creative, have fun, and send us your best shot.

 

The photo chosen for the poster will be featured on a brochure and a 2 x 3-foot poster posted at the National Speciality this September in Wilmington. The winning photo will be chosen by the BHF Board. In addition to being on the poster, the winner will receive an original piece of Bouvier art glass. You will also be the first to see the final product.

To be eligible to win, the picture must be taken and sent in high-resolution mode (HDR setting on your phone or tablet) and be horizontal or square.

 

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS JULY 15, 2023.

The winner will be contacted by August 1, 2023, and asked to sign a letter of permission to use the photo. You may send more than one photo.
