"Grooming is like sculpturing... stripping away the hair to reveal the best your dog has to offer. Once you have trained your eye to find what is there, you must then force your hand to create what you want to be seen."

illustration ©1992 Judith Higgins Kasper"Hand stripping removes dead hair by pulling it out. The finished stripped coat will stay nicer longer than if scissored or clipped; the hair will be less bushy and lie closer to the body. Brush-out time on a stripped coat is reduced by nearly half. A Bouvier coat that is stripped gives the dog a natural appearance that cannot be achieved by any other method."
